A1 - Basic Speaker

You can confidently use daily expressions, understand and say simple sentences. You can introduce yourself and others, and answer questions about yourself, for example name, city, relatives, possessions, etc. You can understand simple concepts when speaking with someone who speaks slowly and deliberately.

A2 - Basic Speaker

You can understand simple sentences in combination with common expressions related to areas of immediate relevance (for example, personal information, shopping, work, surroundings). You can communicate simply and directly. You can write down information regarding your home, hobbies, surroundings, etc.

B1 - Independent Speaker

You can understand the main points when clear and direct language is used regarding familiar themes: work, school, free time, etc. You can handle most situations you may encounter when traveling. You can express yourself regarding your interests and personal information. You can talk about personal experiences and everyday occurrences, wishes and goals, and support such issues with simple explanations.

B2 - Independent Speaker

You can understand the main points of a complex or abstract text within specific subjects and specialised topics. You can provide spontaneous and fluent responses with native speakers. You can include yourself in a wide variety of discussions and make detailed and clear arguments. You can take a position and support it well. You can explain the advantages and disadvantages of a problem and discuss possible solutions.

C1 - Proficient Speaker

You can understand a wide range of demanding, longer texts, and recognise implicit meaning. You can express yourself fluently and spontaneously without having to search for expressions very often. You can use language effectively for social, academic and professional purposes. You can produce clear, well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects, showing controlled use of organisational patterns, connectors and cohesive devices.

C2 - Proficient Speaker

You can understand almost everything you hear or read. You can provide summaries of a variety of sources, construct arguments and make complex presentations. You can express yourself spontaneously, fluently and precisely. You can deduce the finer meanings in expressions and can adapt them in complex situations.
